   As far as rock goes.
   I’d think Arashi, KAT-TUN, NewS and all these other JE’s are more popular :p
   also a lot of individual female singers

   B’z and Mr. Children are the two most successful musical acts in Japan, at least. Both are also rock groups instead of individual artists though. Utada may have more international success, but as far as music sales goes she gets overshadowed by quite a bit.
